Guest host Sharon Louden is an artist, educator, and advocate for artists. Her new book, The Artist as Culture Producer: Living and Sustaining a Creative Life, gathers essays by 40 visual artists, one of whom is Chloë Bass.
Bass is a conceptual artist working in the field of social practice. Some of her work involves temporarily joining other people’s communities in places such as Omaha, Greensboro, and New Orleans. She and Louden discuss collaboration as a way of life, boundaries in social relationships, the limits of empathy, and how the process of falling in love can relate to the experience of creating space and dialogue with strangers.
